Central Michigan guard Kyler VanderJagt transferring to Toledo

The University of Toledo men’s basketball program picked up its first transfer commitment of the spring on Wednesday.

And it’s someone who’s familiar to coaches, players, and fans: Central Michigan guard Kyler VanderJagt.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Grand Rapids, Mich., native averaged 11.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and almost one steal per game last season. HoopsHD.com named VanderJagt the Mid-American Conference’s sixth man of the year.

“We’ve had so much success with transfers that we recruited out of high school, and Kyler is someone we recruited extremely hard three years ago before losing out to Belmont,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
