Tricia Cullop has a confession: The ending of the Solheim Cup hit her pretty hard.
As a proud American, she was not happy Sunday when Europe clinched the trophy in dramatic fashion.
She was thrilled.
“It gave me chills,” Cullop said.
Yep, in a fun twist of emotions, the Toledo women’s basketball coach was rooting for the U.S.
She also was pulling for the European who had the tournament in her hands, in her home country no less.
That’s Carlota Ciganda.
Cullop has spent the past decade hosting pro golfers at her Sylvania home during the Dana LPGA open, and the 33-year-old Spaniard is her current annual guest and an admitted favorite.
