For the most avid fans of Toledo football, the start of spring football practice this week came with some good news and some bad news.
The bad: The Rockets will not be hosting a spring showcase at the Glass Bowl this season.
The good: It is not because they have lost their minds.
No, the reason is as simple as it is disappointing for conspiracists. The stadium will not be available as crews install a new turf field, replacing the current nine-year-old surface.
I share this minor update because it would be easy to suspect Toledo is joining the spring break party — or, more accurately, joining all the football programs breaking from spring tradition.
