A week after the Toledo men’s basketball team turned back Bowling Green in front of the third-largest crowd at Savage Arena in its post-renovation era, the Toledo women did the same on Saturday before its third-largest home crowd ever.
History repeated.
Which was fitting.
History has repeated a lot lately at the old gym along the Ottawa River, where the Rockets are treating their appreciative fans to another special winter.
I’m not going to get crazy and say Toledo has the same home-court advantage as Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse or Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium or Michigan State at the Breslin Center, but that’s only because those teams don’t win as much as the Rockets do at Savage.
