As first impressions go, the Toledo football team early Thursday was like the guy who shows up 20 minutes late to a job interview wearing a ripped, mustard-stained T-shirt, and tells the boss, “You don’t look bad for your age.”
Then ... the Rockets landed the gig.

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what to make of Toledo’s season-opening 37-0 win over Long Island University before a patient crowd of 21,291 at the Glass Bowl.
Who can find fault in a victory by more than five touchdowns, right?
