In the end, it is not that Tricia Cullop is leaving that we will remember.
It is that one of the best — and most endearing — coaches in the country stayed for 16 seasons.
How lucky can one community be?
Cullop loved Toledo, and Toledo loved Cullop, so much that it became hard to imagine one without the other.
If she might have viewed our city as another mile marker in the coaching rat race when she arrived at 36 years old — and then in her third season led the Rockets to the WNIT title — it turned into home.
