Football players are eager for spring practice, and then there is Dan Bolden.
The University of Toledo linebacker hadn’t stepped on a football field for more than six months after suffering a season-ending ACL injury just prior to fall camp. So there was the 6-foot-1, 245-pound senior tossing and turning in his bed on the evening of Feb. 27.
Santa Claus wasn’t at the Fetterman Training Center the next morning, but it felt like he should have been to Bolden.
“I don’t think I slept the night before at all,” he said. “If the building was open, I would have been in there in full pads waiting for practice to roll around.
