Big Inning Dooms Rockets in 12-3 Loss to South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. - An eight-run fifth inning doomed the Rockets in a 12-3 loss to South Florida on Saturday night at the USF Baseball Stadium.

Toledo (1-9) trailed by just a run, 4-3, when USF sent 12 batters to the plate and collected four hits to score eight runs inning to put the game out of reach.

The Rockets jumped out to the lead and led 2-0 after the opening inning of play. Junior Matt Hansen was hit with the first pitch of the game and AJ Montoya followed suit and was hit two pitches later.
