After a start that could not have gone much better for the University of Toledo men's basketball team, a four-plus minute stretch was all Kent State needed to get back in the game by halftime and completely change the mood in Savage Arena.
Toledo played a golden start to the game and, by the eight-minute mark of the first half, had built a 21-point lead. But Kent State closed the half on a 16-0 run and carried that momentum into the second half as the Golden Flashes topped Toledo 83-70 on Tuesday night.
“Obviously, that lead evaporated,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
