Defending Ryan Rollins is perhaps the toughest assignment in the Mid-American Conference.
The University of Toledo sophomore guard is the league’s most skilled player and a candidate to be selected in the 2023 NBA Draft. And Jordan Burge matches up against him every day in practice.
“He can’t guard me,” Rollins quipped, followed by a laugh, “but he is a tough-nosed guy who can defend, is talented, brings energy and enthusiasm, and always has a positive attitude toward tough situations.”
The 6-foot-3 Burge is Toledo’s lone walk-on for the 2021-22 season, but he arrived at UT on an unusual track for a non-scholarship player.
