Akron's Nelson poses new threat for Toledo

When the University of Toledo football team faces Akron on Saturday at Ford Field, the Rockets will have to deal with a new wrinkle that they didn’t have to deal with when the teams met at the Glass Bowl on October 21.

In the first meeting between Toledo and Akron, the Zips relied on senior quarterback Thomas Woodson, who threw two touchdown passes in the game. But since then, Woodson has been suspended for violating team rules prior to the Miami game and hasn’t played since. Redshirt freshman Kato Nelson has stepped in for Woodson and in three starts has thrown six touchdown passes and added one rushing touchdown.
