AKRON — An early bout of turnovers and a fourth-quarter cold stretch conspired to snap the four-game winning streak of the University of Toledo women's basketball team.
The Rockets fell behind in the first quarter at Akron and never fully recovered in a 81-71 defeat at James A. Rhodes Arena, their fifth straight loss to the Zips.
UT never led in the game, but the Rockets had the Zips' lead down to two in the fourth quarter before the Zips created the game’s decisive run.
“We had our opportunities and we didn't take them,” UT coach Tricia Cullop said.
