It’s only July, but the University of Toledo men’s basketball program has already conducted 10 practices.
That’s the benefit of taking what the NCAA designates as foreign tours. Every four years, teams are permitted to travel outside the United States during the offseason.
The biggest perk, according to coaches, is the trips come with 10 additional practices.
“It allows us to get ahead of the curve,” UT coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “We can put a lot of our defensive schemes in, our ball screen coverages in, and offensively, we try to experiment with some new sets and new ideas.
