CLEVELAND, Ohio – An eight-save shutout has earned Toledo junior Agnes Stenlund the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
The goalkeeper's performance earned the Rockets a 1-0 victory over Ohio, who was tied for first place at the time. Stenlund's eight stops were a season high and the most saves she has ever made in a shutout in her collegiate career. The clean sheet was Stenlund's and Toledo's seventh shutout in 2024.
Stenlund was critical down the stretch in preserving the Rocket lead, which Toledo held for the final 50 minutes after a Brooklyn Whitehead goal.
