Toledo football fell to 2-2 on Saturday with a 27-24 loss to Ball State.
In the contest, the Rockets’ fourth-quarter comeback fell short as they outscored the Cardinals 15-3.
Here are four observations from the game:
1. Plitt put up more yards than two Toledo opponents
Ball State quarterback Drew Plitt was a star of the afternoon as he threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns on 26-of-35 passing. He also ran for an additional 17 yards and one score.
Plitt’s performance is impressive considering two of the opponents Toledo has faced this season — Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan — didn’t even put up 300 yards of offense against the Rockets’ defense.
