DETROIT — One of the best Mid-American Conference championship matchups since the league went to divisions in 1997 is on tap.
An 11-1 Toledo squad versus 10-2 Miami.
Nearly everything has gone right for the Rockets and RedHawks this season, but one of them will have the agony of defeat on Saturday afternoon. The other will be filled with ecstasy. For the Rockets, it could be the second MAC title in as many seasons.
And if Toledo triumphs, it would be the first time since Northern Illinois in 2011-12 to repeat as MAC champs.
“We’re excited about the opportunity,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said.
