Today we celebrate Zach Thomas’ induction to Texas Tech’s Ring of Honor. Thomas joins Red Raider greats Donny Anderson, E.J Holub, Dave Parks, and Gabe Rivera in the exclusive club. The newest inductee played linebacker at Texas Tech from 1992-1995, where he dominated the field in impressive fashion. The three-year starter picked up some accolades while at Texas Tech. He was named a First-Team All-American his junior year, and in his senior year he was named a unanimous first-team All-American, Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and a finalist for the Butkus award. He finished his career recording 390 tackles, 131 for his senior year, and a now famous interception against rivals Texas A&M.
