HOUSTON – Tim Tadlock hasn’t fielded a team with this much youth on the roster since 2013 – his first season at the helm of the Texas Tech baseball program.
That season – 13 freshmen and eight sophomores – the 2017 version of the Red Raiders – 12 freshmen and eight sophomores – a total of 20 underclassmen.
“It’s a lot of fun running the young guys out there,” Tadlock said. “At the same time all these guys are young in terms of being a baseball player. They’re all learning and growing as they go. As far as what we saw this weekend, we found us some guys that can catch and drive some runs in.
