Williams: Texas Tech's second half not a promising sign of things to come

The best scenario Texas Tech could have imagined was falling into place, piece by piece. Taking out an undefeated team. Taking care of bowl eligibility early. Getting major contributions from every unit. Putting some teeth back into Jones Stadium’s reputation for intimidation.

That was two fabulous hours of football the Red Raiders delivered.

And then came the next two.

No. 12 Oklahoma State rallied from three 17-point deficits Saturday afternoon, beating Texas Tech 70-53 and reminding the Red Raiders how far they’ve fallen. Oklahoma beat Tech 63-27 last week. Oklahoma State outscored Tech 63-29 after the Red Raiders maybe thought they’d won something.
