Not quite a month ago, while sizing up Texas Tech’s prospects for the last five regular-season games, a menu of mostly toss-ups, I offered up this warning: When’s the last time Tech won a meaningful game in November?
The answer was sobering as it was obvious: Five years ago against Missouri, ranked 14th at the time.
Maybe the Red Raiders ended that streak of futility Saturday by putting away Kansas State 59-44 in their final home game of the season. You can make the case that beating the Wildcats, now 3-6, ain’t what it used to be, but hey.
