All season, the Texas Tech basketball team has defied the odds. Not receiving a single vote in the national preseason polls and picked to finish just seventh in the Big 12 poll, Chris Beard’s team has had to prove doubters wrong since November.
That mentality has fit this team perfectly as a group of former 3-star recruits and grad transfers is being led by a coach that has had 12 different stops on a coaching odyssey that would impress even Odysseus. And fittingly, to win the title, Tech will have to beat a team that has been in the top-5 of the polls all season.
