FORT WORTH - Despite trying to play its way into the NCAA Tournament, TCU was just one of two desperate teams at Schollmaier Arena on Saturday.
No. 11 Texas Tech wasn’t about to let all the work that led to a rise in the Big 12 and NCAA projections be wasted.
The result was an 81-66 Red Raider win. Tech built a 23-point lead late in the first half, held off a TCU surge early in the second half and eventually cruised to a win.
“I’d hate to ever go into a game thinking the other guy wanted it more than us,” Tech coach Chris Beard said after his team extended its winning streak to seven straight games and set a program record for most Big 12 wins in a season (12).
