MINNEAPOLIS -- Matt Mooney came to Texas Tech with the reputation and numbers of a big-time scorer.
For all the changes he's made in his game this season to blend in, that potential to take over a game remained, as Michigan State discovered Saturday in the Final Four. The senior graduate transfer from South Dakota scored 13 of his 22 points in the second half of a 61-51 win over Michigan State. The 22 points tied Mooney's season-high.
All it took was a nudge from assistant coach Glynn Cyprien with Jarrett Culver and Davide Moretti struggling with their shots.
