West Virginia head coach Neal Brown made his debut at Big 12 media days, but it was by no means his first introduction to the conference.
Brown was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas Tech under Tommy Tuberville from 2010-12. During his time with the program, Texas Tech went just 9-17 in the Big 12, but was renowned for its high-flying offense. Under Brown, they averaged 339.9 pass yards per game (4th in the country), 475.7 scrimmage yards (9th) and 34.8 points (16th).
While the 39-year old indicated that he would use his experience from his time in the conference, he also remarked that it is not the same Big 12 it was back then.
