For those of you scoring at home this spring: Texas Tech played in the men's basketball national title game; won the men's outdoor national track and field championship; and is on its way to Omaha. Not to mention a Tech sprinter is a finalist for the Bowerman, track and field's Heisman; the Rangers took a Raider with a top 10 pick; and a Tech basketball player will probably go at least as high.
Oh, yeah, and a recent Raider quarterback was named the NFL's MVP.
As Kirby Hocutt, Tech's 48-year-old athletic director, put it Monday, "Been a good spring.
