AUSTIN – It turned into an old fashioned, game of 3 yards and a cloud of dust.
OK maybe, 10 yards and a cloud of dust.
Texas Tech running back DeAndre Washington and Texas’ Chris Warren III traded blows back-and -forth Thursday at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Washington won the battle as he helped the Red Raiders defeat the Longhorns 48-45 in the Thanksgiving showdown. Washington ran for 173 yards on 28 carries.
He scored two touchdowns.
Warren outdid that, running 25 times for 276 yards.
But, it wasn’t enough to offset Texas poor passing game, which only produced a dismal 64 yards from quarterbacks Jerrod Heard and Tyrone Swoopes.
