Entering Thursday’s college football action, the Texas Longhorns knew they had to win their final two games of the season just to become bowl eligible. While their Thanksgiving Day match up with Texas Tech was seen as winnable, next week’s game against Baylor was seen as the one that was going to keep the Longhorns out of a bowl game for the third time in the last 25 seasons.
As it turns out, the Red Raiders took care of the job early by using some wild plays (both planned and improvised) to get the win. Texas Tech started the scoring with this 69 yard touchdown pass that looked like it was going to be an interception for the Longhorns:
