The Texas Tech Red Raiders opened Big 12 play this weekend against the University of Texas. While Texas Tech outhit the Longhorns in every game this weekend, the Longhorns defeated the Red Raiders in 2 out of three games. It was a low scoring weekend for both teams, so finding a hitter of the week was not an easy task, but sophomore Gabe Holt did have a pretty successful weekend.
With his performance against Texas, Holt has now reached base safely in 32 straight games, a career best for the Bonaire, Georgia, native. No other Red Raider has reached base safely in 30+ games since Tyler Neslony in 2014.
