On the heels of his worst season as Texas Tech head coach, Spike Dykes got the biggest endorsement anyone in his position could want.
Athletic director T. Jones raised eyebrows around college football when he gave Dykes a 10-year contract on Nov. 21, 1990 — four days after a 4-7 season with three close losses.
