The NFL draft is approaching and Texas Tech several players in the mix to potentially land a spot on an NFL roster, including quarterback Nic Shimonek. The senior transfer from Iowa struggled to make plays last season for the Red Raiders.

To the surprise of most Red Raider fans, Shimonek was one of three players invited to the NFL Combine (Dylan Cantrell and Keke Coutee). He did reasonably well at the combine and was able to catch the eyes of some NFL scouts.
