Dylan Haines has been a Texas fan since birth.
His father, John, played defensive tackle at Texas from 1980-83 before he played in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings.
His mom, Sandra, was on the Texas track and field team.
His brother, Dakota, played wide receiver for the Longhorns.
Even his grandfather and great-uncle both competed on the Texas track and field team.
When he tries to recall his memories of the rivalry against Texas Tech, one stands out among the rest — Michael Crabtree’s touchdown catch in 2008.
“So after that I kind of did not like Texas Tech because the way I thought of them was they were always known for just wrecking someone’s season,” Haines said.
