Texas Tech wide receiver Devin Lauderdale has been indefinitely suspended from the team and defensive end Mike Mitchell and safeties Derrick Dixon and Jalen Barnes all will transfer, according to an announcement Tuesday night from the athletic department.
The statement said Lauderdale has been suspended indefinitely “due to a failure to uphold Texas Tech Athletic Department Student-Athlete Expectations.”
It said he will have the opportunity to return next season.
The junior from Houston Bellaire made 43 catches during the regular season for 639 yards and four touchdowns.
All three of the players transferring are sophomores who played little this season, but for whom there were high expectations.
