The Texas Tech men’s basketball team had its schedule ramp up Thursday morning.
The Red Raiders, who will compete in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, were announced to face off against South Carolina in a road game Jan. 27.
It marks the first time the schools have faced off since the 1976-1977 season.
The Gamecocks are coming off one of their most successful seasons, accumulating a record of 26-11 en route to the program’s first Final Four as part of the NCAA Tournament. The 26 victories marked a program record.
Texas Tech, in its first year under head coach Chris Beard, showed promise with a strong core of junior talent aided by a small batch of newcomers.
