Texas Tech RB and former Skyline standout Da'Leon Ward enters transfer portal

Assuming Ward ends up leaving the Red Raider program and transfers elsewhere, this marks the end of a career that showed flashes of promise on the field, but had a lot of issues away from it.

Ward stepped in and made an impact as a freshman, leading the team with 428 yards on the ground in 2016.

Ward (341 yards) was the team's second-leading rusher in 2018 and the top-gaining running back. He trailed only QB Jett Duffey (369) for the team lead. But he seemed to lose favor with the coaching staff as the season went on and watched fellow running backs Tah'Zhawn Henry, Tre King and Demarcus Felton climb up the depth chart and see their carry totals increase.
