Coach Matt Wells has been on a tear recently, but there was one piece that got swept under the rug from the commits from this weekend. Former Rice quarterback Jackson Tyner announced via his Twitter page that he would be attending Texas Tech this fall and would be coming to the football team and a quarterback group that needs some experience to back up the young talent in front of him.
At 6’5” and 250 pounds, Tyner is a big quarterback that will sit in the pocket and make some accurate throws. He has thrown for over 1,000 yards in three seasons at Rice University and has thrown for 4 touchdowns.
