Following the announcement of Patrick Mahomes declaring for the NFL draft, Jett Duffey was removed as a possible replacement as he has been suspended by Texas Tech for the spring and summer.
Duffey's suspension, according to a report by redraiders.com, came from Tech spokesman Chris Cook, who said the decision for suspending Duffey came from the university and not the athletics program.
"There is protected information that I can't share at this time," Cook said in the post by Red Raider Sports. "I can tell you he is suspended only for those two semesters. He is eligible to return in the fall.
