Freshman quarterback Alan Bowman remains hospitalized in Lubbock after suffering a recurrence of a partially collapsed lung, Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Sunday.
Bowman was taken to Covenant Medical Center after a hard hit late in the first half against Oklahoma. Kingsbury said it was less severe than the original injury suffered against West Virginia this season that sidelined Bowman for three weeks.
"Hopefully, it should be a quicker recovery and we'll go from there,” Kingsbury said at his regular Sunday media availability.
Still, the injury makes backup Jett Duffey the likely starter for Saturday’s home game with Texas.
