MINNEAPOLIS -- Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec realized the question about his school playing for a NCAA basketball title called for a profound answer.
"But all I can really say is ... wow," Schovanec said outside the Tech locker room at U.S. Bank Stadium.
In its first trip to the Final Four, Tech outlasted Michigan State 61-51 on Saturday and will face Virginia for the championship on Monday.
"You had people in those stands who had waited a lifetime for this moment," Schovanec said. "You could feel the sentiment out there. It's great for the university.
