LUBBOCK -- The emotions were still raw Tuesday afternoon as Texas Tech arrived back in Lubbock less than 24 hours after falling in overtime to Virginia in the NCAA men's title game.
Coach Chris Beard disembarked the bus behind his subdued players and waved the school's "Guns Up" hand symbol to the fans waiting to greet them outside United Supermarkets Arena.
Even as Tech makes sense of its elevated profile and what the program's historic run means to the university, efforts are being planned to sustain the success. It starts with ensuring Beard keeps coming home to West Texas.
