Over the last month, Texas Tech (5-6, 3-5) has lost four straight games and has gone from a surefire bet to for bowl eligibility to a having a 50 percent chance.
The Red Raiders close out their regular season against Baylor on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the last time they will play there for the foreseeable future. Baylor will also be playing for bowl eligibility in a winner-take-all battle.
Texas Tech had to battle against some of the Big 12's best in that span in Iowa State, Oklahoma and Texas and also lost starting quarterback Alan Bowman because of a recurrence of his partially collapsed lung.
