Texas Tech defeated Iowa State behind an explosive night offensively from Aaron Ross and Devaughntah Williams. In the process, Tubby Smith’s squad also surpassed their win total from the entire 2014-15 season.
The Cyclones were without starting center Jameel McKay, but managed to build a lead over Texas Tech numerous times as the Red Raiders struggled to defend the inside lanes against Georges Niang and Abdel Nader.
However, Texas Tech was never out of the fight on Wednesday night; especially when the ball was in the hands of Williams and Ross.
Aaron Ross lead all scorers with 20 points off the bench, while Devaugntah Williams seemed to find his stroke again with 19 points of his own.
