Senior Devaugntah Williams stepped up when Texas Tech needed him to the most.
Midway through the second half, the Red Raiders led by four before Williams drained back-to-back 3-pointers to give Texas Tech some cushion.
However, High Point fought back to take a 3-point lead with less than three minutes left to play before Williams answered with a trey of his own to tie things up again.
On the Panthers’ next possession, Williams stole the ball and finished it at the other end with an emphatic dunk. Texas Tech went on an 8-3 run over the final minutes of play to secure a 77-73 victory Friday night at United Supermarkets Arena.
