While the majority of Texas Tech fans were glued to their television sets watching the College Football Championship on Monday night, news began to trickle on the twittersphere that North Texas’ Kevin Patrick had been hired as the program’s new defensive line coach.
Kevin Patrick joins the Texas Tech staff after spending the past two seasons coaching the Mean Green’s defensive line, where he helped his position group set a record of 33 sacks in his first season. He also previously spent six seasons at South Florida, where he helped produced three NFL draft picks; including the New York Giants’ Jason Pierre-Paul in 2010.
