It is hard to believe how quickly the outlook of Texas Tech football fans has gone from optimism to utter defeat. In the span of just four days, Tech not only failed its first true test of the Matt Wells era by losing to Arizona, but it also lost its starting QB Alan Bowman for at least six weeks to a left shoulder injury.
Now, the ceiling for this year has dropped from being a potential darkhorse BIg 12 Title Game participant to simply qualifying for a bowl birth. But because of the 28-14 loss to the Wildcats, the Red Raiders now must do something they’ve done only three times since 2011, win four conference games.
