Texas Tech football fans couldn’t have asked for more from the debut of Matt Wells than they received in the Red Raiders 45-10 win over Montana State Saturday afternoon in Lubbock. The offense racked up 691 yards, the defense allowed just 289, and the Red Raiders were never in danger as the program picked up its first win since October 20, 2018.
Returning to the field after missing the last three games of last season, sophomore QB Alan Bowman completed 40 of 55 passes for 436 yards and two touchdowns. And he helped the Red Raiders jump out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after completing his first twelve passes.
