2018 was an unprecedented year for Texas Tech alums in the NFL. There is a possibility that Tech alums could be named both MVP and Coach of the Year as Pat Mahomes and Anthony Lynn have been two of the biggest stories of the season.
Overall, there were 21 Red Raiders in NFL training camps to begin the season. Unfortunately, not all were able to earn roster spots or stay on an active roster for the entire season.
Tight end Jace Amaro made the Kansas City roster out of camp but was released in September. Meanwhile, QB Nic Shimonek spent time on the Washington Redskins’ practice squad as did Pete Robertson while David Webb was on the New York Jet’s practice squad after being cut by the Giants in training camp.
