Wednesday, it was reported that the Texas Tech football team has added Memphis’ defensive line coach Paul Randolph to Matt Wells’ coaching staff in the same capacity. Randolph has ties to new defensive coordinator Keith Patterson having coached with him at Arizona State, Pittsburgh and Tulsa.
In 2018, he was part of a Memphis defense that recorded 37 sacks, tied for 19th-most in the nation. The Tigers were led in sacks by outside linebacker Bryce Huff’s 9.5 sacks but defensive linemen Joseph Dorcus and Jonathan Wilson each registered six while John Tate added four.
But it was at Arizona State where he had his best run with five of his defensive linemen earning all conference honors with four being drafted by NFL teams.
