No player on the roster needed a rebound performance more than QB Tyler Shough who had arguably his worst game as a starter last week against Stephen F. Austin. Fortunately, he bounced back in a big way against Florida International.
Completing 25-35 passes for 399 yards and four TDs while not turning the ball over, the transfer from Oregon set a career-high in passing yards. And in doing so, Shough was able to quell some concerns about his readiness to lead the Red Raiders into conference play this coming weekend.
“I feel we get better every week and it’s been our goal, every day, every practice, we are going to practice even harder coming into this week, because we practice harder every week, we got to keep going because we aren’t satisfied,” Shough said after the game.
