The Texas Tech football team picked up a massive 17-14 win over TCU Thursday night in Ft. Worth. It was fitting that the Red Raiders were wearing their 1970’s era throwback uniforms because the contest turned into an vintage Southwest Conference style slugfest.
While both offenses struggled, especially at the quarterback position, the defenses took center stage as both knew that they would have to be nearly perfect to win. Ultimately, it was the Red Raider defense that made more plays than the much more hyped Horned Frog defense.
Meanwhile, Kliff Kingsbury got as much as he could out of an offense missing five starters including starting quarterback Alan Bowman and week one starting QB McLane Carter.
