Texas Tech Football has been keeping a low profile this “offseason” in terms of renovations, facility improvements, and recruiting, however, things are finally getting going on the defensive front for 2018.
Mekhi Garner is the first defensive player committed for 2018, in conjunction with four wide receivers for a total of five commits.
The six-foot-one, 188 pound safety had quite the junior campaign last season at Mesquite Poteet H.S. (Mesquite, TX), where he accounted for 39 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, and six passes defended.
Poteet finished the season at 11-4.
